WALSHAW'S chance of claiming the league and cup double in the Greater Manchester League's inaugural season were ended by Division One rivals Bamford Fieldhouse last weekend.
The Rochdale-based side beat Walshaw by seven wickets in the final of Derek Kay Per-Fit First XI Cup, which was played at Clifton last Saturday.
Ally Dickson top scored for Walshaw as they were bowled out for 134.
Bamford's veteran bowler Mel Austin did the damage, taking three wickets in a mean spell that stopped the Walshaw batsmen from breaking free.
And Mikey Watt's men were unable to defend their total as Bamford ended on 138 with just three wickets down.
However, Walshaw can still pip the cup winners to the Division One title.
They head the field, with Bamford two points behind in second place with four matches of the season remaining.
