TEAM manager Nick Rimmer was delighted with the commitment of his athletes after Bury AC extended their lead in the Youth Development League on their home track.

The club now looks almost certain to clinch promotion to the Second Division in the lower age group after stretching their advantage over Menai with another great performance in front of an appreciate Market Street crowd.

There were individual victories for Ben Forrest, Stefan Kalambouka, Dan Matthews, Brandon Wilson and Patrick Clarke in the boys' under-15s. 

Forrest won the A 800m in an excellent new personal best time of 2mins 10.4 secs, while Kalambouka took first place in the B 300m (42.8) and Matthews won the B events in the discus (15.10m) and shot (6.07m).

Wilson won the A hammer (17.62m) while Clarke took the A high jump (1.50m).

The boys' teams also won both relays. Clarke, Wilson and Kalambouka teamed up with Nathan Shepherd to win the 4x100m (53.7), while Forrest and Kalambouka were joined by Francis Woodcock and Jack Knowles to run out winners of the 4x300m (3:04.8).

The u15s girls had eight athletes score individual victories.

Grace Goodsell made it a brilliant trio, winning the A 100m (13.1), A 200m (26.7) and A long jump (4.77m) events.

Charlotte Larkin kept the maximum points coming by winning both B 100m and 200m events (13.5 and 27.3).

Daisy Worthington won the A 800m (2:26.7) while Charlotte Speakman-Farnworth won the B 800m (2:34.3) and B 75m hurdles (13.5).

Katherine Townsend won the B discus (14.74m) and Hannah Holland was first in the B high jump (1.50m).

Hattie Vaughan won the A pole vault in 2.80m, further justifying her selection for the English Schools team.

Vaughan, Townsend, Larkin and Goodsell teamed up to win the 4x100m relay (54.6).

There was also a victory in the 4x300m with Vaughan, Worthington, Townsend and Speakman-Farnworth finishing well clear of rivals Menai in a time of 3:12.6.

The u13s boys also bagged a number of individual victories. Jerel Livingston emulated Goodsell by winning the A 100m (13.4), 200m (26.8) and long jump (4.64m).

Gil Vaughan won the B 100m (14.9) and B 1500m (5:31.4) and Evan Savage took the B 200m (30.5).

Jack Andrew won the A 75m hurdles (14.9) and Jay Cook won the B race (16.8) before winning the B high jump (1.20m).

Elliott Savage won the B long jump (4.08m).

The 4 x100m relay team of Elliot and Evan Savage, Livingston and Andrew won their race in a nippy 58.7.

For the u13s girls, the sole individual winner was Freya Potts, who claimed victory in the B 1200m in 4:23.0.

The 4 x100m relay team of Catherine Russell, Ella Hall, Lucy Pixton and Erin Kenyon were third in 60.1.

Lucy Chandler had a busy day for the team scoring vital points in the 70m hurdles, shot and high jump.

Hashim Shah and Goodsell both competed for Greater Manchester in the Mason Trophy Inter Counties for Schools down in Birmingham.

Shah ran in the senior boys' 100m, setting a new best of 11.54 in the heats.

Goodsell just missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in the long jump with an amazing leap of 5.11m.
