THERE will be no divided loyalties for Bury’s Chris Hussey when former side Burton Albion visit the JD Stadium tomorrow.

The 25-year-old full-back joined the Shakers last season on loan but returned to the Brewers to help them in their League Two play-off campaign.

His appearance in the final, which Burton lost 1-0 to Fleetwood, triggered a clause that automatically extended his contract for another year. But Hussey agreed to waive that to secure a summer move.

“Bury are a club on the up, so it was an easy decision to make to re-join them and I am enjoying being part of a winning environment,” Hussey said.

Burton are the early front-runners in League Two, rising to the top of the table with just one defeat – in their last match against AFC Wimbledon.

But Bury have gone unbeaten since losing the season opener and can go above the Brewers with victory tomorrow.

“The main reasons I came back were the lads, the ambition of the chairman and the gaffer really,” he added.

“No disrespect to Burton, I enjoyed my time there and I have nothing bad to say about them, but I’m a Bury player now.”
