AMERICAN midfielder Duane Holmes has been handed a place on the Bury bench for today’s match at home to Accrington Stanley after signing on loan from Huddersfield Town.

The 19-year-old's signing on loan until January was confirmed this morning in time to allow him to be registered for the League Two derby.

Holmes has made just one appearance for the Terriers this season in a Capital One Cup defeat at home to Nottingham Forrest.

But he made 16 appearances – 14 from the bench – for Huddersfield in the Championship last campaign and also had five starts on loan at Yeovil.

The attacking midfielder also made two substitute appearances in the FA Cup and one in the Capital One Cup.

Meanwhile, Shakers left-back Joe Widdowson, who was loaned to Morecambe for two months yesterday, is in the Shrimps’ starting line-up for their match at Tranmere.
