BARNSLEY have recalled loan striker Danny Rose from Bury, the club has revealed.

The 20-year-old striker has made a big impact at the JD Stadium, scoring three goals in six appearances, helping David Flitcroft's side move from a relegation battle to the verges of the play-off race.

Any chances of promotion, however, were snuffed out by yesterday's 1-0 defeat at play-off rivals York City.

And with the Tykes needing at least four points from their remaining two Championship fixtures to stave off relegation, Danny Wilson has acted to bolster his attacking options.

The move has left Bury short of available strikers for Saturday's visit of Portsmouth, with top scorer Danny Nardiello suspended following his red card at York and Clive Platt needing a painkilling injection ahead of yesterday's game.
