A singer-songwriter from Bury will be performing at this year’s Manchester Pride event.

Jsky will be taking to the stage at the summer event, which runs from Friday, August 23 to Monday, August 26, once again.

The Gaydio presenter will be showcasing his talent at the festival, which will be headlined by Jessie J, Eurovision star Loreen and a big name yet to be announced.

He said: "Performing at Manchester Pride is like coming home. There's no feeling quite like it.

“I'm looking forward to debuting some new material as well as some crowd favourites. I've been in the studio a lot lately."

Jsky's new single Things, Pt 2 ft Sebastenelli was released last month and was featured on BBC Introducing North East.

And throughout March he hosted BBC Introducing in Manchester, championing the best in upcoming music and talent in the North West.

Jsky added: "Getting featured on BBC Introducing and then getting to host it in March felt like a dream. I'm incredibly grateful."

In the past Jsky has supported artists such as Dappy, Tom Zanetti, Misha B, Seann Miley Moore and has performed with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

Jsky was selected to represent the UK by carrying the Queen's Baton for the Commonwealth games, a feat he chose to run in heels to show the "power of femininity" and for "pride visibility".

He was nominated for the honour for his contribution to the arts, charity and for inspiring through fashion and the media.

He was also recognised as a "Pioneer of Colour" during Black History Month by the LGBT Foundation.
