Work has begun on a borough road as part of a four-year improvement plan.
The council warned residents that road re-surfacing works on Jackson Street, Radcliffe, started today, Monday, and are set to be completed on Friday, March 15.
The maintenance work is the result of a £44,000 investment, which forms part of the council’s £30m highway investment strategy and the wider Let’s Do it For Bury plan.
The four-year programme of works is designed to ensure the surfaces of streets, roads and cul-de-sacs are high quality, durable and safe.

“The existing road surface will be mechanically removed and a new surface course will be laid.
“Jackson Street will be closed from 8am and 5pm during the works. Temporary diversion routes will be signed.”
The council added that access for emergency services have been notified about the works, and a contractor will be available to escort emergency vehicles through the road if access is required.
It warned residents that delivery drivers may not be able to reach properties on the road while work is being carried out.
