Officers in Radcliffe have celebrated implementing an anti-social behaviour deterrent in the area after complaints from residents.

Officers from the Radcliffe West Neighbourhood were asked by residents and staff from the Moorfield Sheltered Housing Scheme on Wordsworth Avenue in Radcliffe to come to meetings regarding local youths trespassing on the grounds.

They were causing anti-social behaviour which included being abusive to residents and using drugs.

After support from GMP and Bury Council, funding for a secure fence was given and has now been completed.

A spokesperson for GMP Bury South said: “The fence securing Moorfield is a successful example of partnership working between Bury Council and GMP, and we haven’t received reports of ASB at Moorfield since.

“As a Neighbourhood Team, we pride ourselves on partnership working and having strong relationships with Bury Council to problem-solve long-term issues like this.
