Police have reported drivers for two alleged traffic offences across the borough. 

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said its special constables were out on patrol in Bury and Prestwich on Monday. 

The first incident, on Bolton Road in Bury, saw an HGV driver reported for allegedly using a mobile phone while at the wheel. 

Officers also reported a driver for allegedly having no insurance on St Mary's Road in Prestwich and the vehicle was then seized.

A spokesperson for GMP Bury South said: "Our GMP Specials were out across the district for a few hours today.

"Bolton Road, Bury - HGV driver reported for using a mobile phone whilst driving.

"St Mary's Road, Prestwich- vehicle no insurance. Driver reported and vehicle seized." 

GMP special constables consists of volunteer officers who support the police in their spare time.
