A former borough concrete manufacturing works is set to be transformed after fresh plans have been lodged to the council.
An application for planning permission has been submitted to turn the former site of Tarmac Building Materials on Stopes Road into 132 homes by developer Harworth.
Approval to demolish buildings on the 15-acre site, which covers an area of Radcliffe as well as Little Lever in Bolton, was granted in October 2022.
And planning permission was granted by Bolton Council in 2021 to develop the site.
The former Tarmac site was acquired by Harworth in 2020 which says the new homes will comprise a mix of housing types “to meet the needs of the local community, as well as improvements to road infrastructure and access".

The planning document said: “The site already benefits from the outline planning permission, granted by Bolton Council for the demolition of existing structures and the erection of up to 132 residential dwellings with associated public space.
“[The developer] has been undertaking various enabling works which includes the demolition of buildings, ground remediation works, remediation works in relation to contamination and various enabling works to form the development plateaux.”
Speaking at a Bolton Council meeting last year, Sean Taylor, representing developers the Harworth Group, told the members that the plan would provide family homes and would help Bolton meet its housing requirements in the coming years.
He said that the principal of building houses, which will be a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes, on the site had already been “firmly established".
