A talented pianist will be performing at Bury Parish Church tomorrow, Friday.

John Sabar will be playing in a lunchtime concert at the town centre church at 12.30pm.

After studying music at the University of York, John went on to develop his skills as a performer by completing a master's degree in music performance at the Royal Northern College of Music.

As a devout Christian, he decided to focus his attention "specifically on music inspired or influenced by the Christian faith".

In his performances he aims to "combine musical excellence with Christian themes and ideas in thought-provoking ways for the enjoyment of all".

The programme he uses includes works by Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco - Evangelion, The Passion.

Tickets for the event will cost £5 on the door and refreshments will be served from 11.30am.
