A cannabis farmer has been jailed after he was caught during a raid in Radcliffe.

Rafael Hysaj was arrested by police on September 26 last year at a School Street property that was being used as a cannabis farm.

In Manchester Crown Court on Wednesday, January 17, the 31-year-old was jailed for 10 months and given a £187 fine after he was convicted of cultivating cannabis.

Hysaj, of Grandale Street, Manchester, had been on remand in prison since his arrest.

The cannabis farm was uncovered after members of the public alerted officers about the property.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson from the Bury South division said: “Anyone who has information about cannabis farms, especially where there are concerns that the electricity meter has been tampered with, causing a fire risk to surrounding properties, is encouraged to contact Greater Manchester Police.

“You can do this via 101, or online, or contact CrimeStoppers anonymously online or via 0800 555 111.”
