The Red Arrows are set to fly over Bury tomorrow, Friday.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team is set to make the flight from their base at RAF Waddington to Blackpool Airport.

The Arrows will be landing there in time for the weekend’s Southport Air Show, where they are due to put on a display at around noon on Saturday only.

On their way to Blackpool, the Arrows are set to pass over parts of Greater Manchester including Bury, Bolton, Saddleworth, Shaw, Royton and Rochdale.

The Arrows will also travel directly over Liverpool city centre on their way to Blackpool Airport.

When the Red Arrows will fly over

According to military-airshows.co.uk, the Red Arrows will take the following route, subject to weather and other requirements:

  • 4pm – RAF Waddington
  • 4.02pm – North East of North Scarle
  • 4.08pm – North of Ashborne
  • 4.11pm – Vicinity of Buxton
  • 4.13pm – East of Glossop
  • 4.14pm – South of Marsden
  • 4.15pm – East of Denshaw
  • 4.16pm – Flypast Rochdale
  • 4.19pm – East of Burscough
  • 4.20pm – North West of Rainford
  • 4.21pm – Flypast Prescot
  • 4.22pm – East of Liverpool Airport
  • 4.22pm – Flypast Liverpool
  • 4.23pm – West of Liverpool Airport
  • 4.25pm – West of Formby
  • 4.27pm – Over sea
  • 4.29pm – Blackpool Airport.

It’s a busy weekend for the Red Arrows.

As well as the Southport Airshow on Saturday, the team is due to help close the International Ayr Show Festival of Flight in Scotland.

On Sunday, the team is due to fly over the Great North Run. They’ll then have a few days before their next scheduled displays on September 14, when the team is planning to display at the Guernsey Air Display and the Jersey International Airshow.
