A major road has been partially closed for two months due to gas works.
Longsight Road in Holcombe Brook will have temporary traffic lights from today, Monday, September 4, until November 1 while gas network Cadent replace pipes in the area.
The current pipes will be replaced with new plastic ones for greener gas usage in the future.

Cadent said they will need to turn off the gas supply in some homes while they undertake the works and may need access to homes.
Temporary lights will be put on the junction of Mayfield Road and on Longsight Road just above the post office.

The work will involve digging on the road and footpaths which may cause parking and traffic disruption.
For residents, gas will normally be turned off at 8am and workmen will need access to houses to do this and then turned back on later in the day.

Some homes may also have to have their drives dug up to reach pipes, which will also be replaced by Cadent once the work have finished.
