A lifesaving piece of equipment has been unveiled at a medical centre centre in Hollins.

Unsworth Cllr Nathan Boroda officially unveiled the new defibrillator at Blackford House Medical Centre.

It is the third defibrillator that has been opened locally in recent months, after other equipment was put in place at the Hollins Community Centre in March and the Queen Anne pub in June.

The defibrillator at the medical centre was funded by generous contributions from the community and Crown Oil, and fitted by Outwood Electrical Ltd.

Cllr Boroda said: “I felt a real sense of pride when opening this new defibrillator.

“It is truly inspiring how the local community has come together to work together and fundraiser for this important cause.
