Metrolink services between Bury and the city centre are currently suspended.

No services are going through because of a tree on the line.

Services have been suspended since mid-afternoon with no indication when they will be back on.

 

A spokesman for Manchester Metrolink said this afternoon: "Due to a tree on the overhead line, there is a service change on the Bury line.

" No service will operate between Bury and Whitefield.

"Tickets are being accepted on the following buses: 90, 95, 97, 98, 135 and 524.

"Metrolink apologises for any inconvenience this may cause."

Now in an update the spokesman added: "Due to damage to the overhead line, the Bury line is currently suspended.

"Due to a damage to the overhead line there is no service between Bury and the City Centre.

"Tickets and passes can be used on the 17, 18, 41, 52, 53, 56, 66, 90, 95, 97, 98, 112, 117, 118, 119, 135, 156, 163, 524 bus services.

"Metrolink apologises for any inconvenience this may cause."

Shuttle buses to help people get home from Parklife are running also.
