The council spent a total of £14,000 on coronation events this year, figures show.
Th money was used across the borough to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and commemorate the life of Queen Elizabeth II, which involved schools in creative projects.

The projects included young people aged four to 19 being invited to create works of public art, textiles or craft pieces, a digital display, or a performance.
The main chunk of the money went on these art projects which will be included in an online exhibition in the near future.

Data collected by openDemocracy found that the total cost of the coronation to taxpayers range from £50m and £150m.
Councils across the UK did not appear to have been deterred from spending significantly on celebrations despite a recent poll finding that almost two-thirds of Brits have no interest in the event.

Across Greater Manchester, Oldham Council was the highest spender, allocating £52,000 towards celebrations with Wigan following closely with £40,000.
