A Prestwich furniture store will hold a huge closing down sale after announcing plans to shut its doors for good.

The Warehouse, at the Old Co-op Yard on Warwick Street will launch its "closing down forever grand sale" at 10am today, Friday.

The £475,000 in-store only sale will offer customers a chance to purchase furniture with discounts of up to 70 per cent.

Writing on its Facebook page, the company said told customers that the event will be its biggest ever sale, and that "everything must go as we close the premises".

The post added: “Prices on many incredible offers will be revealed this Friday.

“Get ready for massive reductions in-store, with up to 70 per cent off!

"Everything in our Prestwich showroom will be priced to clear and everything must go during our £475,000 closing down forever grand sale."

The Warehouse, which has served customers since 1988, stocks a wide range of furniture from sofas and chairs to TV stands and units and beds.

Owner Tony Whitehead says the sale will run for around three weeks but confirmed the store will continue to fulfil orders for some time after.

He predicts it will take around six months to ship the remaining stock to customers and to sell the building.
