TALENTED youngster Tilly Winter is celebrating after a straight A showing in her GCSEs.
The 16-year-old, of Walmersley, goes to The Derby High School in Bury and got 7A*s and 5 As.
Tilly said: “I was expecting these grades, but seeing it actually written on paper is so much better.
“My dad came with me and, when I opened up the envelope, I ran over and showed him with a big smile.
“I have been so anxious in the last few weeks leading up to getting my results but, seeing them now, it feels like all the hard work has paid off. It’s brilliant.”
Tilly is eyeing a possible career in drug testing or drug development and is set to study chemistry, biology, dance and maths at Bury College in a few weeks.
She added: “Derby is such a great school. The teachers made me believe I was capable of these results.
“They offered me so much support. I hope I can get that same level of support at college.
“It was a good learning atmosphere here and I will miss my classmates.”
