THE mayor of Bury joined crowds at Tottington High School to celebrate the success of last year's cohort of GCSE students.
Cllr Stella Smith attended the school's Celebration of Excellence Awards , alongside ex-staff, staff, governors, Year 11 students from 2014-15 and their families, and guest speaker Colonel Mike Glover, Regimental Secretary for the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
Awards were presented not only for academic performance, but also for qualities of attendance, community service, care for fellow students, and commitment to extra-curricular activities.
Headteacher Brian Duffy said: "The evening is about recognising the efforts of our Year 11 students, and also acknowledging that any success achieved is usually done with the help of a team of people, notably the great support and guidance given here at school by our dedicated staff and at home by supportive loving families."
