STAFF at a holiday firm had to be evacuated after a fire broke out in the basement.
An old boiler in the basement of Travelworld International in Church Lane, Prestwich, caught fire and firefighters arrived at about 2.30pm.
Firefighters said the room was heavily smokelogged but because it was well ventilated, the blaze did not spread through the rest of the building.
Crews from Broughton, Manchester Central and Oldham fire stations were on the scene for about 80 minutes.
