THREE charities in Bury are among 1,000 around the UK to benefit from the "small change" of Yorkshire Building Society members.
The society’s Charitable Foundation has donated a total of £100,000 to charities and good causes nominated by people during its Small Change Big Difference campaign.
Grace's Place children's hospice in Radcliffe, Friends of Bury Portage, and Communic8te Bury were among those given a £100 donation after being nominated at the society’s branch in Bury.
The foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference scheme where members donate the pennies from the annual interest on their accounts.
James Fenton, manager of the Bury branch, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came into the branch to nominate a charity for a donation.
"We are committed to our community and I hope these donations will enable the charities to carry on their wonderful work here in Bury.”
As of 2014, the amount donated by the Charitable Foundation in Bury was more than £29,000.
