A MAN from Whitefield is among five people charged with murder.

Remi Adams, of Dartmouth Road, has been charged with the murder of 26-year-old Kieran McGrath, who was shot in the chest in October last year.

The 33-year-old has also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, and possession of ammunition without a certificate.

Anthony Henry, aged 31, of no fixed address, and 27-year-old Scott Chapman, of Leng Road, Newton Heath, have also been charged with murder.

Troy Beckford, aged 23, of Lowerfields Gardens, Golborne, has been charged with murder and money laundering.

All five men will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Kieran, from Clayton, was found collapsed outside Ashton Police Station at 10.25pm on October 4. It later emerged he had made his way there after being shot in the chest.

He was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts to resuscitate him.

In February, police investigating his murder raided six properties in Bury, Whitefield, Heywood and Blackley and arrested three men, who were then released pending further enquiries.

On Monday, police officers arrested six people after they executed warrants at properties in Bury, Whitefield, north Manchester and Wigan.
