A RAMSBOTTOM man has been handed a suspended prison sentence by Bolton magistrates after sexually touching a woman in her home.
Asif Iqbal, aged 44, of Bolton Street, Ramsbottom, described in court as a public servant, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on February 13.
Magistrates sentenced him to 14 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months as they regarded the crime as so serious and Iqbal, who is on the sex offender register for five years, was told he must pay his victim £200 compensation.
Iqbal will also be subject to supervision by the probation service for 18 months and has to participate in rehabilitation activities.
He was also ordered to pay £400 prosecution costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
