A BRAVE Greenmount woman who has been diagnosed with breast cancer will don her gladrags next month for a glittering charity fashion show.

Patti Coxen will take to the catwalk for Breast Cancer Care’s celebrity-hosted London fashion show to launch Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

She is one 24 inspiring men and women who have received a breast cancer diagnosis to model at the emotional and uplifting show on Wednesday, October 1.

Wearing stunning garments from designers, including Stella McCartney, Temperley London and Jenny Packham, and high street stores, the models will be styled by fashion correspondent Hilary Alexander and London Fashion Week co-ordinator Lesley Goring.

Sassoon Salons will be styling their hair and make-up will be applied by Estee Lauder, to show people can look and feel fabulous, despite the brutal effects of breast cancer.

Patti, of Royston Close, said: “When I was diagnosed with breast cancer aged 44, it came as a total shock, but having four children who depended on me gave me the strength to fight and remain positive.

“Taking part in Breast Cancer Care’s fashion show is something wonderful to look forward to, and something I would never have had the confidence to do before.

“Stepping on to the catwalk in front of everyone, especially my family who have supported me every step of the way, will be a chance to say I’m still here and that breast cancer doesn’t define me.”

Samia al Qadhi, chief executive at Breast Cancer Care, added: “Everyone at Breast Cancer Care is so excited to see our inspiring models take to the catwalk in front of their friends and families, celebrating life after a breast cancer diagnosis.”
